A Closer Look at Thursday:
Wellbeing & Connection:
First, open your workbook and set up your page. The title can be "Journal". Next, check in with yourself. How are you feeling today? Draw the emoji that matches your mood, then try the breathing exercise to the right. Do this exercise every day, as often as you like-no writing necessary! Notice how you felt before you did the exercise, and how you felt afterwards. Did it help? Now choose one section of the page to complete: Self-Care Tip (write about what happens to your mood after taking a few minutes to yourself. Is it good for your mood? Why or why not?), Think About It, Character Trait of the Day, or you can choose to draw a picture of someone being cheerful. Please work on adding lots of detail to your reflections. Your responses should be a paragraph with about five sentences. Finally, get to it! 😊 |

Spelling:
Thursday Rhyming Words:
Choose ten spelling words. Try and think of a different rhyming word for each of your ten spelling words that you chosen. You can record these in your notebook.

Writing:
Read today’s Writing Prompt for inspiration. It's the Shel Silverstein poem to the right. Your job: Write a paragraph telling me your very best excuses you have used, or could use, for not cleaning your room! Remember to hook the reader in with an interesting, fun, or shocking topic sentence. Just like you did Monday, you should first brainstorm your ideas in a web, then use the Hamburger Paragraph structure when writing your draft. After writing use the writer's mumble to help you revise then edit, and use the Rubric to thoughtfully assess your work. To refresh your memory, please see below for the templates. This should be fun, so be creative. It should be from your imagination so don't worry if your room is usually tidy (that's great!). Title: My Messy Bedroom When you have a finished copy it's time to publish! Share your writing with a friend or family member and add it to your portfolio in MyBlueprint. |
Math:
Time to practice your multiplication and division facts.
Roll two dice (or one die twice) to fill in two spots on the "roof" of your home. For example, roll a 6 and fill in a semi-circle, then roll a 3 and fill in another semi-circle. Multiply 6x3 to get the last number for the semi-circle.
See my example and then do the rest on your own.
