A Closer Look at Monday:
Questions or just want to connect? Ms. Ghoury's here for you every Monday! Email to set up a call! [email protected]
Wellbeing & Connection:
Here's the instructions for Week Four of your journal activity! First, open your workbook and set up your page. The title can be "Journal". Next, check in with yourself. How are you feeling today? Draw the emoji that matches your mood, then try the relaxation video to your right. Do this exercise every day, as often as you like-no writing necessary! Notice how you felt before you did the exercise, and how you felt afterwards. Did it help? Feel free to write a reflection. |
|
Now choose one section of the page to complete: Self-Care Tip (write about why you think choosing healthy foods is important), Think About It, Character Trait of the Day, or you can choose to draw a picture of someone being responsible.
Four, get to it!
We'll ask you to do one section a day, so by the end of the week you'll have four journal entries and will have completed each section. If you miss one or all, or just want to talk about your answers with your parents that's totally okay. Do what works for you! 😊

Monday Word Sort. Every Monday you will have a new word list emailed to you by Ms. Gebert. You will sort your words into different categories just like we did in class every week. Look for patterns and similar sounds when sorting.
For example, if your words contained the vowel sounds of short a, short e and short I, you would sort them into those categories. Don’t forget to add your headings for each category. You can record your sort chart in your notebook.

It's time to bring some sunshine to a senior in isolation. You can write this letter in your notebook and take a picture of it, or you may type it out on a computer. Just like the Letter Logs we did at school, you do not need to set up the page with your name, date and title. Simply start your letter with a greeting like Dear friend, or whatever you like.
Thanks to those of you that shared your letter's last week. The seniors were very touched by your encouraging messages and are looking forward to this week's delivery.
For this week's letter please follow the letter writing structure we practiced in class. Here’s an example of what your letter should include:
Dear friend,
(Greet them and wish them well) (Share three goals you'd love to accomplish in your life-think big! Be sure to explain why each goal is important to you and use a transition between each idea. ) (Now share about why you think you'll be able to achieve your dreams.) (Ask them a question about what they're most proud of accomplishing.) (Finish the letter by wishing them well.)
Sincerely,
(Your first name, Grade 3)
Send to: [email protected] (this is a separate email that I've set up specifically for these letters). You may also choose to share your letter on MyBlueprint, but please make sure you send it to the above email address as well. Thank you!
Each week these virtual notes will be delivered to seniors at The Langley Lodge, Avalon Gardens, Langley Seniors Village, and Langley Gardens.

Math:
It's time for Mathletics! You'll be working at your own pace, but aim to take your test Friday, or if you prefer you can wait until the weekend. Our math time is self directed. That means you work at your own pace, but know that next week you'll be getting another Mathletics activity and more math pages.
