Happy Wednesday!
A Closer Look at Wednesday:
Wellbeing & Connection:
First, open your workbook and set up your page. The title can be "Journal". Next, check in with yourself. How are you feeling today? Draw the emoji that matches your mood, then try the breathing exercise video. Notice how you felt before you did the breathing exercise, and how you felt afterwards. Did it help? Feel free to write about it. Now choose one section of the page to complete: Self-Care Tip, Think About It, Character Trait of the Day, or you can choose to draw a picture of someone being curious. Finally, get to it! 😊 |

Wednesday Word Hunt:
Grab a book from home or look one up online. Go on a scavenger hunt in the book and search for words in the text that have the same patterns as your words this week. You can record the words you find in your notebook. For example, if you have words with short a sounds you would look for other words that have the short a sound as well.

Writing:
Today we're doing Part Two of your Self Reflection. This is VERY important and will be included in your final report card for grade 3. Jump to the video below for the instructions, or read through the instructions first. It's up to you.
Choose ONE Core Competency to write a reflection about: Creative Thinking, Communication, Critical Thinking, Personal and Cultural Identity, Self Regulation, OR Solving Problems in Peaceful Ways.
Once you've chosen your topic, look over what you did yesterday. For example, if you chose to write your reflection on Communication then read over each bullet point in Communication and reflect on why you gave yourself the emojis you chose.
If you have a happy face, brainstorm a time, or times that show you are successful in that skill. Do the same for the neutral face, and the sad face. You can jot your brainstorm down quickly in point form, or however you like.
Once you have all your ideas it is time to write your reflection. You can use your work book, or you can print out the scanned file.
Write about the things you're doing well. Try and be as specific as possible. Give examples of how you do these things well. It's good to be proud of your efforts! Then write about what you need to work on and explain why you need to improve these skills. What would happen if you improved in these areas? Finally give at least one suggestion of what you could do to grow in these areas.
When you're done take a picture of your response and add it to your Portfolio on My Blueprint, or email it to me at [email protected].

Reading:
Wednesdays are all about Buddy Reading! Connect with a classmate or family member and read over the phone/video chat. Had enough tech? Then cozy up and read to a sibling or parent.

Playful Possibilities:
Why not join our Zoom meeting today at 12pm? Today you'll have a chance to share something you've been working on with the class. You'll each have one minute so think about what you'd like to say before it's your turn.
