Tuesday, May 12th
Happy Tuesday! Check out the video Ms. Gebert made for you. She wanted to share some things she's been doing in her free time.
A Closer Look at Tuesday:
Questions or just want to connect? Ms. Gebert's here for you every Tuesday! Email to set up a call! [email protected]
Wellbeing & Connection:
First, open your workbook and set up your page. The title can be "Journal". Next, check in with yourself. How are you feeling today? Draw the emoji that matches your mood, then try the breathing exercise video. Do this exercise every day, as often as you like-no writing necessary! Notice how you felt before you did the breathing exercise, and how you felt afterwards. Did it help? Write about it if you like. Now choose one section of the page to complete: Self-Care Tip (write about what happens to your mood after listening to your favourite song. What do you think would happen if you danced to your favourite song?), Think About It, Character Trait of the Day, or you can choose to draw a picture of someone being thoughtful. Finally, get to it! 😊 |

Writing:
Today we're writing a Hamburger Paragraph! Watch the video and then choose your favorite food and brainstorm all the juicy details that makes that food so good! You should try and include all six senses into your brainstorm. How does your food smell? Taste? Feel? etc. Then use the Hamburger graphic organizer to help you write the first draft of a paragraph about your favourite food. Remember the goal is to try and paint a picture in the reader's brain, and to get them to feel like they can smell, taste, feel, and hear your favorite food just by reading your words.

Playful Possibilities:
Have you ever made your own banana ice cream in a blender or food processor? It's really healthy and it's really good! The best part? You can add any toppings you like!
Ingredients: 4 Frozen bananas- in the video they cut the bananas after they freeze them, but I like to do it before. Do what works for you!
