Hi Everyone!
Welcome to our new home! This is where you'll find your child's learning opportunities each week. It's very important for us to stress that we are now in "Crisis Learning" mode. This is not distance education or homeschooling. We recognize that there is a great deal of pressure on you right now and we don't want to add to that. We understand that each of you are in unique situations, and we appreciate your efforts and kindness through all of this.
Hours for our new classroom are completely flexible. There may be some days when your child does quite a bit of work, and there may be some days when you only do a check in. On average, we’re shooting for an hour a day. Please focus attention on reading, writing, and math. All other items are “Choice Assignments” for those interested. Everyone is learning at their own pace. Some people will zip through this work, while others may take some more time. We will be adjusting and learning together as we go. Feedback is appreciated!
In an effort to keep things simple we recommend your child use one notebook for all their work. In your school supply bags you'll find an empty writing notebook that should be perfect. If possible have your child set up their page for each activity the way they would have in class. Here's an example (please note that we'll give you a suggested title for each activity):

Okay, time to head to the Weekly Checklist Tab! You'll find it on the navigation bar at the top of the page. Once you're there you should first click on the Overview of the week we're on (the weeks will not disappear so you can always go back if you need to for any reason). The Overview will provide you with a snapshot of the week. From there you can click on each day of the week to find all the information you'll need to complete the lessons.
Note: We'll do our best to share the next week by the Friday before so you have the weekend to look it over. Make sense?
Next to the Weekly Checklist tab you'll see a tab called Resources. We'll try and keep this simple, but this is where you'll find links to online resources that you may find useful. There is no obligation to use anything there.
Finally the Blog...we're thinking this could be a great place to share student work, but we aren't quite sure how that will look just yet and something like My Blueprint may be a better fit (hopefully we'll be getting some training on that later this week). Like you, we're figuring this out as we go!
We hope this introduction gives you a solid grasp on what we're planning. We are trying our best to keep things simple and organized for you and your family.
Welcome!
